American democracy is under threat now, and this time our enemies are within. America needs History and Civics education to promote national unity.
Right now, we collectively spend about 1,000 times more per student on science, technology, engineering, and math education than we do on history and civics, writes 6 former Secretary of Education for Wall Street Journal.
In curriculum partnership with The Educating for American Democracy Initiative, we provide low income New Yorkers with History and Civics Education for food and/or Cash with a new vision for history and civics to deal effectively with fundamental tensions inherent in civic learning, integrate a diversity of experiences and perspectives throughout, and strengthen civic engagement and electoral participation of fellow Americans.
